Shocker from Haryana: DSP mowed down by sand mafia in Nuh

Haryana - DSP killed

New Delhi: In a shocking development, a senior police officer was mowed down by the sand mafia in broad daylight after being confronted by the former.

The Deputy Suprintendent of Police (DSP) Surendra Singh was run over by the dumper and he is said to have died on the spot. The senior police officer was murdered by the illegal mafia, while he was doing his duty.

According to reports, the senior police officer reached the spot after getting a tip-off about illegal mining in the area. Reaching the spot, the senior cop signaled the stone-laden dumper to stop but the driver sped up and ran over him.

The shocking murder of DSP Surendra Singh brings to fore the shocking state of affairs and the brazenness with which the mining mafia operates.

The accused who ran over the truck on DSP is on the run and police has launched a manhunt to nab him. Top police officers including Inspector General of Nuh have reached the spot.

While a Haryana Minister, in conversation with a TV channel, assured of strictest possible action against the mining mafia and termed the culprits as thieves & plunderers, the Opposition tore into Khattar government for not doing enough to rein in the mafia, who are operating in the state with impunity.

This is not the first incident of sand mafia attacking policemen. Earlier also, senior cops have been attacked by the mining mafia.

“The brazenness with which these men mowed down the officer and killed him on the spot, isn’t possible without the political patronage,” said an Opposition member slamming the Khattar administration.
