Sonali Phogat Death: Family agrees for post-mortem; demands procedure be videographed

New Delhi: BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s family member has said they have agreed to give their consent for the autopsy or forensic exam, but they have a a condition that the procedure will be video-graphed.

Sonali’s brother Rinku Phogat has said that she was threatened, scared. Something was added to her food after which she had complained of restlessness.

He said that it was a pre planned murder and he wants justice for it.

Also, Rinku Phogat, brother of Sonali Phogat has demanded an FIR before his sister’s post-mortem.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had said the state police are conducting a detailed investigation into the death of Sonali Phogat.

According to the doctors and Goa Director General of Police (DGP) Jaspal Singh, it is said that in the preliminary it looks like she died due to a heart attack.

Her brother also alleged that before her death, Phogat had spoken to her mother, sister and brother-in-law over the phone in which she sounded disturbed and complained against her two colleagues.

He also claimed that the CCTV cameras, laptop and other important things have gone missing after her death from the farmhouse in the Goa where she was staying.

On Tuesday morning, Sonali Phogat was “brought dead” at the St Anthony Hospital at Anjuna in North Goa, said a police official.

The police had earlier said that she died of a suspected heart attack.
