New Delhi: The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday announced new restrictions to contain the spread of COVID-19. It is being said that temple festivals and religious events will be banned from April 10.
The state government added that weddings should be restricted to 100 persons and funerals to 50 only.
Here’s the full list of what’s allowed and what’s not:
- Festivals and religious gatherings will be barred
- Retail fruit, vegetable shops cannot function at the Koyambedu market complex
- 50 percent customers will be allowed in shopping malls, showrooms, big jewellery & textile showrooms, recreation clubs, entertainment and amusement parks, cinema theatres and multiplexes
- 50 percent seating will be allowed in hotels, eateries and tea shops
- Wedding functions and funerals can be allowed with 100 persons in attendance
- In sports stadia, sporting events can take place without spectators
- In swimming pools, only sports training will be allowed
- Exhibition halls will be allowed only for business to business process;
- In all places of worship, devotees will be allowed till 8 pm, but these places cannot hold any festivals and religious gatherings
- Shooting for small screen and films will be allowed
- Only two passengers can travel in autorickshaws
- ePass system will continue for those coming from other states
