J&K: Two CRPF jawans martyred in terrorist attack

Srinagar: Terrorist attack on CRPF took place this morning in Anantnag district of J&K. In today’s attack, two CRPF  jawans were killed. One CRPF jawan suffered injuries, who was admitted in the hospital in critical condition. But two jawans succumbed to injuries on way to hospital, confirmed by Anantnag police.

Vehicle borne terrorists fired upon CRPF deployment  at Sheer Pora area of Achhabal in J&K.In the incident 3 CRPF personnel were injured , one of whom later succumbed to his injuries. One civilian was also injured in today’s terrorist attack.

Police has also confirmed that Vehicle borne terrorists fired upon CRPF deployment at Anchabal chowk in Anantnag district if Jammu & Kashmir.The two CRPF jawans killed have been identified as assistant sub-inspector Meena and constable Sandeep.More details about deceased jawans and terrorists involved in today’s attack are still awaited.

The injured CRPF jawans were shifted to the Army’s 92 base hospital Badamibagh in Srinagar.

The area has been cordoned off by the security forces and search operation has been launched to track down the terrorists.More security deployment has been stationed in Sheer Pora area of Achhabal in Anantnag district.

Terrorists attacked CRPF on a day when people in the Valley were observing ‘Martyrs Day’ in commemoration of the civilians killed in 1931 in an uprising against the Dogra monarchy. Yesterday J&K Governor had also tweeted, appealing everyone to work towards restoring the pristine glory of the state as an abode of peace,harmoney and prospeity.

Today, former CM of J&K Mehbooba Mufti also warned the central government not to hatch out any conspiracy to divide her party PDP or any other attempt to curtail peace process in the valley otherwise consequences might lead to situation like in  1987.

In June this year, ten Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans sustained injuries in a grenade attack by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sadar area.
