New Delhi: On the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, Congress party looked like a divided house with many young leaders supporting Modi govt’s bold step. Rahul tweeted his response days after its passage from both houses, Priyanka Gandhi broke her silence on the issue today.

But, more than breaking her silence, Priyanka Gandhi’s visit to Uttar Pradesh and the browbeating of a journalist is making news.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi’s visit to Sonbhadra district in UP landed in controversy after a TV journalist was heckled, manhandled and threatened with dire consequences for seeking her views on the scrapping of Article 370.

The scribe approached Priyanka to know her stand on the abolition of Article 370 but in return he was dragged and roughed up by supporters including her secretary Sandeep Singh.

“Listen… I will thrash you right here, you won’t be able to stand,” Sandeep told the reporter.

The reporter protested against such browbeating but nobody paid heed and was constantly threatened.

Priyanka’s secretary also accused the reporter of being a ‘paid journalist’. He told the reporter that he has taken money from BJP to question the Congress leader.

The video of the incident has been shared on Twitter by ABP Editor Pankaj Jha.

The video is being widely circulated on the social media, creating widespread anger and outrage against the Congress leader and her supporters.

Journalists body is demanding from Police to lodge FIR against Sandeep Singh, the man caught on camera threatening the scribe.

Reacting to the grave incident, BJP has strongly condemned the arrogant display of power and sought action against those trying to suppress the freedom of press.
