New Delhi: Aligning with BJP and voting for Yogi government has landed a Muslim woman in Uttar Pradesh elections in soup. The woman named Ujma earned the wrath of her in-laws as she voted for BJP in UP polls and has her life in shambles.

She was mercilessly beaten up by her in-laws and her husband is even threatening her of Triple Talaq.

The woman has been thrown out of the house. When she said that she will lodge a complaint with police, she was threatened with dire consequences.

The in-laws also reportedly threatened her that they will shoot her brother if she approaches cops.

The woman has urged the state administration for help. She also met Farhat Naqvi, sister of Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and impressed upon about the ordeal she had to go through for voting for a party, which delivers on development.

Ujma got married to a neighbour Tayyab of Ejaj Nagar Gotiyan area, last year. The duo were in relationship before exchanging wedding vows.

Ujma, in conversation to mediapersons, said that her cousin father-in-law & brother-in-law got a whiff of her political inclination.

“When they knew that I voted for BJP, they made my life hell”, said Ujma.

“They even challenged the BJP government to intervene in the matter and said that nobody can save from getting divorced,” she further said.

Ujma’s husband has kept mum over the issue. Her father is a daily wager.

Meanwhile, Ulema-e-Islam national secretary Shahbuddin Rizvi, while reacting on the convtroversy, raised voice against atrocity on the woman over her political inclination.
