Uttar Pradesh: A look at Ganga Expressway Project

New Delhi: For the all-around development of Uttar Pradesh, the construction of a fully Access controlled Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj district is proposed. Starting Point:- On the Meerut-Bulandshahr Road (NH-334) near Bijauli village of Meerut district. End Point:- Near Prayagraj Bypass (NH-19) near Judapur Dando village of Prayagraj district. Districts covered:- Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. A number of covered villages:- 529. Land Required:- About 7355 Hectares.

Width of Expressway:- This expressway will be 06 lane wide (expandable to 08 lane) and the structures will be made as per 08 lane width standard. The width of the right off-way (ROW) of the expressway is proposed to be 120 m, a service road of 3.75 m width will be constructed on one side of the expressway in a staggered form, so that the residents of the nearby villages of the project can get the facility of easy movement.

The land acquisition work for Ganga Expressway is going on on a war footing. On dt. 02.09.2021, Hon’ble Council of Ministers has given approval regarding the selection of developers for 04 groups of 06 Lane (Access Controlled) Green Field Ganga Expressway Project on DBFOT (Toll) basis under PPP mode, along with bidding process RFQ-cum- RFP Permission for further action has also been given to start on RFP record.

As on 08.11.2021, 6900 hectares (94 Percent) of land has been purchased/acquired against the total required land for Ganga Expressway.
