New Delhi: There are not many people who don’t like to enjoy munching on street food on the go. Be it the small B-tier cities or major metropolitan bustling cities like Delhi & Mumbai, street food is loved & craved by a large section of society all across India.
However, the hygiene of the food sold by these street vendors has always remained under security as these small sellers have often been seen not maintaining the required hygiene & cleanliness while preparing their food. Trolling Indians over the same, several African influencers recently took to TikTok and made a number of videos making fun of the Desi street food.
African Tik tokers mock Indian street food
In one such video which recently went viral on Twitter (Now X), an individual can be seen mixing random stuff in a very unhygienic manner and serving it to a customer who walks away after seeing the pathetic condition of the food.
It’s time to realize that something is terribly wrong with your street food when the guys who don’t even have anything to eat start mocking it. https://t.co/RufAdTf860

In another similar video, a man, in an attempt to mock desi street food, can be seen serving the food using his feet that too after mixing it with his armpit’s sweat.
Now even Africa is making fun of Indian street food. I can’t handle 2023 😂😂😂

Desi netizens react
The latest trend of Africans mocking desi Indian food soon irked the Indian netizens who didn’t think twice before hitting back at the African ticktokers for the same. This divided the internet & triggered a Twitter war that saw Indian & African people trying to mock each other’s food with hilarious comments.
While some brutally trolled the African tik tokers over the scarcity of food in their countries, others advocated that instead of mocking foreigners we should focus on improving the quality & hygiene standards of Indian street food.
One user wrote, “I’ll eat fly burgers with ebola ketchup before I eat Indian Street food.” Another said, “Too much food wastage considering the fact there’s always a shortage of food in the African continent lol.”

Nevertheless, keeping everything else aside, it’s a fact that majority of the Indian street food lacks basic hygiene and something has to be done about it ASAP.
