New Delhi: Leaving Delhiities both furious and concerned, an alarming video recently went viral on the internet, featuring a man snatching away a lady’s smartphone from right in front of her house’s main gate in the Gulabi Bagh area.
Shared on X (Previously Twitter) by an account named Lavelybakshi, the CCTV footage shows the snatcher quietly following a lady who seems busy on a phone call. It then sees the accused taking away her mobile device in the blink of an eye and quickly fleeing from the scene. Shocked and taken aback after realizing her phone is stolen, the victim is also spotted in the clip, chasing after the thief in a futile attempt to recover her stolen gadget.

Although the exact date of the incident is not yet confirmed, its viral footage, in just a matter of two days, ended up pulling over 30 thousand views on X with netizens taking to the comment section and criticizing the Delhi Police for not taking appropriate action against such offenders.
While some tagged the authorities, requesting them to register an FIR against the accused, others highlighted the rapidly increasing number of such incidents in the capital city.
Reacting to the incident, one user wrote, “We will have to do something to stop such crimes, they are rising at an alarming rate.” Another wrote, “Crimes like these have become an everyday thing nowadays.” A third person highlighted, “Mobile phone snatchers are freely roaming around the city and nobody does a thing about it.”
