New Delhi: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made a controversial statement during a public meet in Kalka, saying that the rape incidents have not increased.
“What is of bigger concern is that such incidents are happening among the persons known to each other. Many a times, they are together and then some days later file a rape case against their mate”, Khattar said.
Khattar went on to say that rape incidents are nothing new to society. Such cases have been happening since ever and so, continue even today.

In a video from the public meet, CM Khattar could be seen stating that in 80 percent of the cases the accused and victim know each other for a long time.
The Haryana CM further said that there are also such cases where the two people know each other very well and even roam around together, but when a slightest of disturbance occur then a complaint is registered under rape charge.
