WATCH: Moments before arrest, Amritpal Singh’s gurudwara speech at Bhindranwale’s village go viral

New Delhi: After a month of run, Radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh was today arrested by Punjab Police in Monga.

Before his arrest, Amritpal Singh was seen addressing a gathering at a Gurdwara in Rode village of Moga district.

Officials said that Amritpal Singh was arrested from the Gurdwara.

Amritpal Singh who claims to be the follower of Khalistani separatist and terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was arrested from his birthplace, Monga.

Khalistani separatist and terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was born in Monga. Amritpal Singh’s supporters also refer to him as “Bhindranwale 2.0”.

Earlier, Police had recieved information that ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief’ was in Rode village. Amritpal Singh was frced to surrender because he knew that Police had surrounded him from all sides.

Sukhchain Singh, Inspector General of Police, Punjab said that they did not enter the Gurudwara Sahib to maintain sanctity.
Amritpal Singh is being taken to Assam’s Dibrugarh jail where his other close aides have been kept under NSA act.
He was on a run after Punjab Police launched a massive manhaunt against him and his outfit on March 18.
His arrest comes days after his wife was Kirandeep Kaur was stopped at the Amritsar airport while she was trying to board a flight to London.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Police ina tweet has urged people to maintain peace and harmony and to refrain from sharing any fake news.

During the investigations it was found that Amritpal Singh had been allegedly leading youths towards “gun culture” and he trying to divide Punjab on communal lines.
