New Delhi: The desire for internet content has become so intense that numerous instances of individuals meeting tragic ends while recording themselves have come to light. Once again, a similar incident occurred recently in Satara, Maharashtra, where a 29-year-old woman fell into a deep gorge. The primary reason for the fall, as you might have already assumed, was related to social media. According to reports, the woman was attempting to take a selfie when she slipped into the gorge. A team later rescued her, and a video of the rescue was shared online.

Upon the video circulating on the internet, individuals swiftly criticized the tourists for their ‘negligence’ and remembered the recent incident in which an influencer tragically fell into a canyon while reportedly creating an Instagram reel.

About The Incident

The recent case involved a girl who was said to be from Pune and had gone to Borne Ghat in Satara with her friends. According to reports, she was quickly taken to the hospital, and her condition was confirmed to be stable.

The handle ‘Mumbaikhabar9’ shared a video on platform X (formerly Twitter). In the post, it was mentioned that a young girl was rescued from a 150-foot gorge by the Shivendra Raje rescue team at Borne Ghat in Satara. According to the caption, the girl slipped and fell from the cliff while trying to take a selfie with her group of 5 boys and 3 girls. The Shivendra Raje group underwent mountaineering training in Dehradun in June, which was sponsored by Satara Zilla Parishad.

People shared their opinions in the comment section. “Why the hell do people scream so much in every freaking situation? Absolutely useless!!” one user remarked. “In the next couple of years, reels will be the biggest reason for accidents,” another person added. “Now she will make a reel of how she was rescued. Free PR!” another commented. “It’s not even been two weeks since social media influencer Aanvi Kamdar died after falling into a gorge at a popular waterfall in Maharashtra. We need to be more responsible while visiting these places during the monsoon season,” someone else noted.

After being shared on social media, the video quickly went viral. The majority of viewers criticized the woman for her lack of caution. Posted just yesterday, the video has already amassed 310.2k views.
