New Delhi: Union minister Nitin Gadkari fainted at an event in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar today. Gadkari was on a stage when he fainted and almost fell down.
The incident occurred when he was standing with other dignitaries for the National Anthem at the convocation function of the Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV) Agricultural University.
He was soon rushed to the hospital.
He was examined by a team of medicos and his condition was described as “stable” by Bharatiya Janata Party colleagues.
Gadkari was in Ahmednagar for the convocation ceremony of the Mahatma Phule Agricultural University.
Gadkari addressed the ceremony and returned to his seat. A few moments later when Gadkari stood up for the national anthem, he suddenly fainted and almost fell down.
Later in the day Gadkari explained why he fainted, he said, “Due lack of oxygen I fainted. Later I got my blood sugar and blood pressure checked and the reports were fine. I am better now and there is nothing to worry.”
