Who is Babita Mam, viral tutor asking students to vote for literate leader

New Delhi: A video of Babita Tyagi, a teacher at ICS coaching classes, has recently gone viral on social media. In the video, she encourages people to vote for politicians who are well-educated.

During her coaching class, Babita Mam takes the time to enlighten her students about the importance of having a literate leader to guide the billion-plus population.

The viral video has sparked lots of Twitter reactions, with people praising her for educating her students.

Who is Babita Mam?

Babita Tyagi is a teacher at the ICS coaching center in Sonipat.  And, the reason why she is grabbing eyeballs and turning everyone’s attention on social media is her advocacy for electing educated candidates. While taking classes, she advises students to not get carried over by motivated agenda of political parties & rather vote for an educated ledaer only, as he/she is the one who will have ‘control over their fate’ for next 5 years.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that she attained limelight. Last time, she became talking point on social media was because of her ‘social etiquette’ & chivalry lessons to male children in her class.

In a clip, which was widely shared a few months ago, she addresses a situation in her class where a girl was struggling to find a seat. Babita Mam instructed the girl to move to a seat at the front. Following this, a boy made a comment to the girl, saying, “yahan aa ke baith ja” (come and sit here).

While the context and intent of the boy’s comment remained ambiguous in the video, the teacher seized the moment to address a broader issue – the treatment of women and the impact of such behavior on society. She eloquently conveyed that the boys’ actions contribute to shaping the environment in which their female relatives live. Drawing from her own experiences and observations, she shared anecdotes to emphasize that street harassment is not limited to young women; it affects women of all age groups. Her message was clear: a respectful attitude toward women is crucial because they play a pivotal role in shaping society.

The video, shared on social media, initiated a conversation about gender dynamics, respect, and societal responsibility. Many Twitter users praised her for addressing the issue openly and appreciated her effort to instill a sense of responsibility and respect in her students.

Educators like Babita Mam play a vital role in shaping the mindset of future generations, encouraging discussions about pertinent issues like gender dynamics, voting for educated leaders, and respect for all individuals.
