New Delhi: The sight of food delivery persons waiting outside restaurants and cafes, riding bikes through the roads and streets, and striving to deliver orders within the given frame of time is quite usual in the current times.
Their efforts deserve plenty of respect and appreciation from the consumers as well as others, however the scenario that we often hear of is different from what’s expected.
After various videos of people assaulting the delivery agents of various firms, yet another video of a woman thrashing a Zomato delivery boy and repeatedly beating him with her sleepers in full public view has gone viral on the microblogging site Twitter.
In the now-viral clip, the delivery agent was left in tears as he feared losing his job.
Watch:
A user named @bogas04 shared the video with caption, “Hi @zomatocare @zomato, the delivery executive got assaulted while delivering my order (#4267443050). Some woman took the order from him and started hitting him with her footwear. He came to my place crying and terrified that he would lose his job”.

He further told about the non-supporting behaviour he faced when he contacted Zomato’s customer service.
“I tried calling customer care but they weren’t able to understand and weren’t helpful. I told them that ‘I don’t care about the order, your partner got assaulted, please help him’, but they asked me to tell riders to contact rider support. He tried that but they didn’t understand Kannada, and of course, he was scared to lose his job”, the user wrote.
Twitter users in fumes
The video clip has left the Netizens fuming over the insensitive behaviour carried out by the lady against the delivery person. Social media user have tagged the concerned authorities in the matter and while calling for a strong action against the woman.
@zomato should BAN such abusive women from their customers & app.

Over 7 days now but any statement from zomato yet? Do they really care for their employees? Don’t think so. These delivery guys are also working for their families. This type of nuisance is unacceptable. Almost everyday now videos of men getting assaulted are getting viral.Weird.

FIR must be filed on the woman who attached @ZomotoDeliveryPartner with Sandler and attacking him physically at public place. And then next issue has to investigate.
