Yashasvi Jaiswal hits ton on Test debut, ‘emotional’ cricketer thanks parents in 1st interview (VIDEO)

New Delhi: Team India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal made a spectacular debut in the Test match against West Indies in Dominica by smashing a hundred. By hitting a hundred in his Test debut match, Yashasvi became the 17th Indian player and the third opening player to score a ton in first match.

Tejashwi opened the Indian innings on Day 2 of Test match and went to score maiden ton in 215 balls. The 21-year-old cricketer started on a slow note but accelerated his game after the lunch break and completed a well-earned ton. Rohit Sharma, at the other hand, also went to score hundred, thus strengthening India’s grip on the first Test match against Windies.

After scoring his maiden hundred in debut Test match, the cricketer was oozing with emotions and this reflected in his interaction with the press.

Commenting on his feat, an emotional Jaiswal attributed his success to his family and all those who supported him in the journey.

“It is very emotional for me and my family. For everyone who has supported me in any way. It has been a long journey. I want to say thank you to everyone who have helped me. I want to dedicate this to my mother and father, they’ve contributed a lot. Thanks to god. I won’t say much now… I’m happy, this is just a start, I’ve a lot to do,” Yashasvi said in the video shared by the BCCI.

Till last reports, Jaiswal was 143 not out. With his & skipper Rohit Sharma’s ton, the Men in Blue are in commanding position and have taken a substantial lead against the Caribbeans.

With India at 312/2 against West Indies all out at 150 runs, the match is clearly tilted in former’s favour.
