New Delhi: Zombie virus has started trending on Twitter after the new virus has reportedly been revived in Russia from a frozen lake. Notably, the French National Centre for Scientific Research’s Scientists has uncovered the 48,000-year-old zombie virus from permafrost in Siberia.
According to reports, researchers decided to retract the ancient samples due to climate change posing a threat to the thawing of permafrost and releasing the virus.
On Twitter, people are terming the new development as a big threat to all human kinds. However, a few netizens are confused about whether it really poses a cause for concern.

However, scientists also said that the ancient virus is still infectious and circulates across the world. As per the reports, researchers say the virus can be treated with antibiotics. Being 48,500-year-old, the virus broke the record of a 30,000-year-old virus discovered in Siberia in 2013.
