30th International Kite Festival: Vibrant colours covers Gujarat skies

New Delhi: The festival of Kite Flying or Uttarayan as its called locally, is a uniquely Gujarati phenomenon, which is celebrated when winter begins turning to summer according to the Hindu calendar.

Although the kite festival is organised and celebrated for few days but the industry of kite making and allied products such as firki, thread, etc., run almost round the year.
