Armed Forces Flag Day: Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik’s tribute to India’s heroes; see here
New Delhi: International sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand sculpture on Armed Forces Flag Day. It is being observed today across the country to honour the martyrs as well as the men and women in uniform who have valiantly fought to save the country’s honour.
He took to Twitter to share the art with a caption which read, “We Salute our heroes to all martyrs and the men in uniform on #ArmedForcesFlagDay . One of my SandArt.”

Armed Forces Flag Day is being observed since 07 December, 1949.

The Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF) has also been constituted by the Government of India for the welfare and rehabilitation of the Ex-servicemen (ESM) community. Armed Forces Flag Day Fund was setup in 1993 to extend support to disabled ex-servicemen, war widows, children of martyrs and other such beneficiaries who need our care and support.
