IPL 2018: Kohli takes spectacular catch but RCB loses to KKR by 6 wickets (VIDEO)
Bengaluru: Virat Kohli may be in sublime form but his team Royal Challengers Bangalore is in free-fall mode, failing to leave its mar even on the home turf. In last night match, Kohli took a spectacular catch against Kolkata Knight Riders drawing attention of the crowd but it all went in vain.
Kolkata Knight Riders registered a superb 6-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bengaluru last night to hand Virat Kohli and Co. their fifth defeat in seven matches.
Put in to bat, Bangalore posted 175 for 4 riding on Kohli’s unbeaten 44-ball 68.
In reply, Kolkata overhauled the target with 5 balls to spare, thanks to Aussie opener Chris Lynn’s 62 not out. He was adjudged man of the match.
Kohli takes stunner catch but refuses to celebrate
In the 19th over of the KKR innings, as Dinesh Karthik smashed at long-on, Kohli showed his superman skills and took a full length dive to catch a fantastic catch to dismiss the opposition captain for 23.
Kohli pulled off a stunner catch at the long-on but he wasn’t pleased with RCB’s performance and hence didn’t even celebrate after taking the catch.
Kohli pulls up RCB bowlers
In the post-match interview, Kohli minced no words on his team’s poor performance couple with poor fielding dropped chances.
“The pitch is bringing out surprises everytime we bat. Looked better than it played. 175 was a really good score I felt. If we field like that, we don’t deserve to win. We need to be hard on ourselves and be braver with the ball and in the field, we need to correct those things going forward. We didn’t deserve to win with the way we fielded. We weren’t just good enough tonight. I can’t pin-point anything at this point,” said Kohli.
