Jaipur: Rajasthan Royals beat Kings XI Punjab by 15 runs last night. Rajasthan restricted Punjab to just 143 for 7 in the stipulated 20 overs.
Opting to bat in the must-win game, Rajasthan posted 158 runs for eight despite Jos Buttler’s blazing 58-ball 82 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
Rahul’s 91 runs knock goes in vain
Kings XI Punjab lost the match to Rajasthan Royals by 15 runs, despite K L Rahul’s brilliant 91-run innings. Only Stoinis could manage to get into double figures other than Rahul.
Earlier, Kings XI Punjab’s Andrew Tye (4/34) came with a clinical bowling show to restrict Rajasthan Royals to 158/8.
Buttler’s blistering 82 runs in 58 balls
Opener Jos Buttler posted a blistering 82 runs in 58 balls, other the team wouldn’t have crossed even 100 runs. Buttler’s fantastic innings propelled the hosts to a moderate total.
With this win, they RR still have the hopes alive of making it into the playoffs. Rajasthan Royals have moved to the sixth position.
