New Delhi: Andre Russell showed some fireworks by hitting six sixes in six balls in the ongoing Men’s 6ixty Competition. Playing for Trinbago Knight Riders, Russell hit six consecutive sixes spanning over two different overs. Dominic Drakes and Jon-Russ Jaggesar were the bowlers involved in this.

In the seventh over, out of the ten, Russell went all out with four consecutive sixes to Drakes. He looked like a boss out there, dominating the play. At the start of the eighth over, he hit two more to Jaggesar. Yes, there is no change of ends in the game. He did not stop there, he went on to hit another boundary on the third ball of the over. After seven consecutive boundaries, Jaggesar managed to curb him with two dot balls and finally get the batter out on the last ball of the over.

Russell hit eight sixes in the inning, scoring 72 off just 24 balls. The next over, after Russell accomplished this feat, Seekkuge Prasanna hit three consecutive sixes to continue the power-packed inning. The Knight Riders managed 155/5 in 10 overs.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, led by Evin Lewis, lost the game by just three runs. After the team did not get to the required start, Sherfane Rutherford came to the rescue. At first, he hit three consecutive sixes and then went on to hit four consecutive maximums. He scored 50 off 15 but could not finish the game. With Drakes and Chris Gayle ending the inning, the team fell four-run short of the total.

This win led Trinbago Knight Riders into the semi-finals. The team will face Barbados Royals in the semis on August 28.
