New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday released its Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign video, months ahead of the cricketing extravaganza taking place in India. Though the campaign video aims to bring together cricket fans across the continents to the World Cup venue, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in the promotional clip has left the cricketers as well as cinebuffs pleasantly surprised.
Though the World cricketing body remained silent on why it roped the King Khan in its promotional campaign, but it did tweet, “history will be re-written at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.”

Moments after the release of campaign video by ICC Twitter handle, lot many users including thousands of SRK fans rushed to social media to comment about King Khan being ‘king in cricket’ too. A few of them recalled the Chak De moment while others called it a ‘solid promo’. A few others said SRK’s presence is good omen for Team India and this year, Men in Blue will capture the trophy.

Apart from SRK, many renowned cricketers also feature in the advertisement including Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan, Muttiah Muralitharan, Jonty Rhodes and Jemimah Rodrigues. The campaign video also gives an insight into many decorated moments of the Men’s Cricket World Cup, since its inception.
The highly-anticipated tournament is all set to begin from October 5 and slated to conclude on November 19, this year.
