Commonwealth Games 2022: Check out schedule, squads for Women’s T20 cricket

New Delhi: Women’s T20 cricket is making its debut in the upcoming Commonwealth Games. This is the second appearance of the sport in the event after 1998 when the men’s List-A cricket was played when South Africa won the gold medal. It is a great moment for cricket fans across the world and finally, the moment arrived in the origin country of the sport.

Eight teams will be playing in a round-robin format to qualify for the playoffs. the teams are divided into two pools. India along with Australia, Pakistan and Barbados is in Group A.

Harmanpreet Kaur will be captaining the Indian side who will look out to win a medal in the event. World Champions Australia is the clear favourite, but England and India also have great chances to get their hand on the gold medal.

Schedule:

India will take on Australia in the first game of the tournament on July 29 at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground which will host all cricket matches at CWG. Meanwhile, India will face the Pakistan side on July 31, which is expected to be a big clash in terms of the audience and the thrill which will be added to the event.
