New Delhi: Cricket Australia is all set to confirm their postponed Test against Afghanistan will go ahead later this year, after being postponed from its original date of December last year due to the covid-19 pandemic.
This match will give Tim Paine’s men some much-needed red-ball cricket before the Ashes. Cricket Australia is confident of hosting Afghanistan, this match which was supposed to be played in Perth last year is likely to be shifted to Hobart.
Afghanistan, who made its maiden appearance in the Test arena in 2018 defeated Zimbabwe by 47 runs at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. With this win, Afghanistan took home the three-match T20I series by a 3-0 margin. The test series was levelled to 1-1.
