Deepika started resolutely against the Dutch archer winning the first set 29-28, hitting 10 twice. Quinty made a strong comeback to draw 2-2 against the Indian archer. In the third set, Quinty had a brain fade moment as she shot the first arrow horrendously wide of the target to score 0 points and gift the Indian the entire set.

Deepika managed to win the fourth and the decider set comfortably 28-23, hitting two 10s in the process. Although she was dejected that she missed the bullseye on her third attempt, by that time the match was already sealed in favour of the Indian (6-2).

Deepika Kumari will now square off against German archer Michelle Kroppen who is coming into the contest after winning her match against the Azerbaijani archer Yaylagul Ramazanova. Kroppen is the bronze medalist in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
