New Delhi: Viacom 18 bagged the streaming rights for IPL 2023 and Jio Cinema will stream the matches with different angles and fans will likely be able to choose the camera angle to view the game. Anil Jayaraj, Sports CEO in Viacom18 told Business Standard that the tournament will be streamed in high-quality on the Jio Cinema app with ’16 unique feeds in 12 languages’.
Reportedly, the users will get an option to choose the camera angles and will get a detailed analysis and play-along in the 4K broadcast. They are also taking care of the technical and buffering issues that occurred during the streaming of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
The different camera angles will include the SpiderCam view and a Single Player Focus mode. The 12-language commentary will tentatively include Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odiya, Marathi and Bhojpuri.
The stump cam view for the matches was also provided by Thums Up for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

The company bagged the digital rights of both the IPL and the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Viacom 18 has the IPL streaming rights from 2023-27 in a Rs 23,757.5 crore deal and is likely to stream the games for free this year. The streaming rights for WPL were sold for Rs 951 crore to the firm.
Star bagged the television broadcast rights for the IPL in the Indian subcontinent for Rs 23,575 crore.
The IPL season is likely to start in late March or early April this year. The last edition was won by the new entrant, Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Giants.
