Gujarat’s Jamnagar North poll: Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba secures victory on BJP’s ticket

New Delhi: Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivasinh Hardevsinh Solanki (Rivaba Jav Ravindrasinh Jadeja) won the election on BJP’s ticket from Jamnagar North-78 constituency. After her victory became confirmed by the Election Commission from the constituency, she said, ”It is not just victory for me but for all of us. I thank everyone who accepted me happily as a candidate, worked for me, reached out, and connected to people.”

Of the total recorded votes in the area, she got over 55% of the votes followed by Aam Aadmi Party’s Ahir Karashanbhai Parbatbhai Karmur (23.37%) and Indian National Congress’s Bipendrasigh Chatursinh Jadeja (15.49%).

In the constituency, four parties were in the fray while six candidates fought independently. Bahujan Samja Party’s candidate got 1.5% votes.

So far, BJP is leading on 149 seats out of 157 seats in the state. Out of the total 182 seats, the results on 10 seats are decided. On the 10 seats, the BJP has won 8 seats while Congress bagged 2 seats.

In the constituency, the polling was held during the first phase of the Gujarat assembly elections on December 1. Earlier in the election, he also appealed to the people to vote in large numbers in favour of her wife Rivaba.

Notably, CM Bhupendra Patel will take oath for the second time in the state on December 12. In the ceremony, PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah will also participate.
