Happy Birthday Ravi Shasti: Twitterati wishes Indian coach with memes as he turns 59

Ravi Shastri’s tenure as Indian team coach is set to end after the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled later this year.

New Delhi: Current Indian cricket team coach, Ravi Shastri turned 59 on Thursday and the wishes poured in from across the world. Shastri has been India’s coach since 2017 and has taken the national team to no. 1 ranking in the Test cricket. India is all set to face New Zealand in the final of first ever World Test Championship, and a huge credit for that goes to the coach.

Shastri has also been a brilliant commentator and has covered some iconic moments in Indian cricket history like Yuvraj Singh’s 6 sixes against England in 2007 and when he was the witness to the first ever double century made in an ODI match by none other than the ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar. But the one which will be remembered forever is the iconic last six by Dhoni in the 2011 World Cup Final. Shastri’s words, “Dhoni finishes off in style. A magnificent strike into the crowd! India lift the World Cup after 28 years,” have made a permanent mark in the brains of Indian team fans.

Ravi Shastri’s tenure as Indian team coach is set to end after the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled later this year. Rahul Dravid is already in contention as he has been chosen to take another Indian team for a series against Sri Lanka as Virat Kohli’s team will be in England for a series against the English team after competing in the WTC Final earlier in June.
