“I have been told, but I have also been told not to share it with you…”: KL Rahul responds to batting order in pre-match conference ahead of Adelaide test

New Delhi: Indian wicket-keeper batsman, KL Rahul who was going through a rough patch had finally found his form after being promoted to the top of the batting order. In the pre-match press conference, Rahul remarked That he has overcome the “mental challenge” of being a floater in the line-up and is willing to bat at any position as long as he can play for the team.

Rahul looked in fine touch in the first Test against Australia and ended the test with scores of 26 and 77. However, the Indian batsman was opening the innings on that occasion and the return of Rohit Sharma will put the opening slot of Rahul in jeopardy. With Rohit walking back into playing eleven for the day-night Test starting Friday, Rahul was asked the obvious question about his batting position.

The Karnataka-born batter very calmly remarked:

I just want to be in the playing XI, which means wherever. You go there and bat and play for the team…

Rahul started his Test career in Australia exactly a decade back as a middle-order batter, who later opened. His batting slot in both the Test and ODI set-up was far from steady all these years and this affected him mentally.

What is the squad of both teams in the second test?
