New Delhi: India is scheduled to take on the Bangla Tigers in 2 match test series which begins on the 19th of September 2024. Now, although the test series does not become important for the people from a viewership point, it does have some unique records which can be broken.
The test between India and Bangladesh will be part of the World Test championship Cycle. The final of the WTC is scheduled to be taken at the iconic Lords Cricket Ground next year. Currently, India sits at the pole position when it comes to the WTC points table. In the WTC cycle, India is left with the Bangladesh series and the New Zealand series (3-match series) as well as the border Gavaskar trophy (5-match series).

Meanwhile, the Bangladeshi team will be coming to India on the back of an impressive performance against Pakistan where the Tigers picked up the whopping 2-0 series win. The Tigers under their new captain shanto have been pretty impressive in the last few years and managed to counter everything thrown at them by the Pakistani team. Naturally, Bangladesh will be high on confidence when they take on the Indian team, hoping to recreate a memorable victory once again.
What is the unique record?
Besides the series win and the WTC points, India will also look to create a unique record when they take the field against Bangladesh. Indian cricket team has never in its history been able to exceed the number of defeats with the number of wins.
India has so far played 579 tests out of which the loss and win stands at 178 each. Furthermore, around 222 matches have ended in a draw for the team. A win in the first test could see the wins surpass the losses.
