New Delhi: The biggest festival of cricket, IPL 2023, is set to begin on March 31 with defending champions Gujarat Titans facing Chennai Super Kings. Jio Cinema bagged the streaming rights for the tournament and with different camera angles, the streaming app will bring commentary in 12 languages. This time, even ex-IPL players like AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle and Suresh Raina have turned commentators.
While former players usually turn to commentary, in the 2023 season, Jio Cinema is bringing current players, who are not part of IPL as new commentators in various languages. Sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan has also turned into an English commentator for IPL 2023.
The English commentary box will feature IPL stars including ABD, Chris Gayle, Eoin Morgan and Graeme Swann while the Hindi commentary will feature the likes of Zaheer Khan, Suresh Raina and Anil Kumble. Parthiv Patel, Akash Chopra and other regular names will also feature in the Hindi commentary.
Indian and CSK batter Kedar Jadhav will feature in the Marathi commentary alongside Dhawal Kulkarni, Siddesh Lad and Kiran More. Former Indian cricketers Veda Krishnamurthy and Abhinav Mukund will be there for the Tamil commentary. Veteran player Venkatesh Prasad will lead the Kannada commentary team while India’s Test batter Hanuma Vihari and Venkatpathy Raju will be there for commentary in Telugu.
Alongside the above languages, Jio Cinema will have commentary in Bhojpuri, Bangla, Oriya, Malayalam, Punjabi and Gujarati.

The first game will begin at 7:30 pm on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
