IPL 2023 points tally: Where do teams stand, check their tally on points table

New Delhi: Rajasthan Royal (RR)’s blitzkrieg against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the last night match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 pushed the former in top league and is now a strong contender for the playoff stage.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s brilliant knock of half-century in just 13 balls and then hitting an emphatic 98 runs in 47 balls was a delight for the cricket fans to watch. Yuzvendra Chahal’s four wicket haul was another high point of the game which guided RR to overwhelming victory against the KKR.

As the Royals vanquished KnightRiders by 9 wickets and with almost 7 overs to spare, this gave a big boost to their IPL standing while spoiled latter’s chances. RR jumped to 3rd spot, with 12 points from 12 matches & run rate of +0.633 while KKR slipped to 7th spot with 10 points from 12 matches and also with declined run rate.

During the start of IPL 2023 tournament, Chennai Super Kings & Rajasthan Royals were the default favourites but with successive setbacks, they lost momentum and now struggling to make it to the playoff stage.

Orange Cap, IPL 2023

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf Du Plessis is the leading player in race for the coveted Orange cup. With a total of 511 runs, he is the highest run-getter in tournament so far. Closely following him is RR’s Yashasvi Jaiswal whose 98 runs in last match pushed him to 477 runs while Gujarat’s Shubman Gill holds third spot with Shubman Gill (469 runs).

CSK opener Devon Conway and RCB legend occupy 5th & 6th spot respectively with 458 runs & 419 runs.

Purple Cap, IPL 2023

Mohammed Shami is the leading contender in the race for Purple Cap. Gujarat Titans’ pace Shami has claimed 19 wickets in tournament so far while Rashid Khan is at Number 2 spot with same wickets as Shami.

CSK’s Tushar Deshpande and Mumbai Indians’ Piyush Chawla are too in the race for coveted title with 18 & 17 seats respectively. KKR’s Varun Chakaravarthy is closely following them with 17 wickets.
