In the game against RCB, Gurbaz hit a fifty, but KKR was in deep trouble as they stood 89/5 in the 12th over. It was the 103-run stand between Rinku Singh and Shardul Thakur that helped them score 204. While Rinku scored 46 off 33, Shardul was the catalyst in guiding KKR to a 200+ score as he played a stunning knock of 68 off 29. In the second inning, Varun Chakravrthy picked four wickets while debutant Suyash Sharma got three to wrap RCB on 123.
In the game against GT, they got a target of 205 after the brilliance of Vijay Shankar who scored 63 off 24. While Venkatesh Iyer set the stage for KKR with his 83 off 40, they were pushed back with four quick wickets, including a hat-trick by Rashid Khan. With 28 needed off 5 balls, everyone rules KKR out of the game, but Rinku Singh smashed all five deliveries by Yash Dayal out of the park and won the game.
