IPL: Chennai beat Mumbai by one wicket in thriller
Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 1 wicket in the thrilling opening match of the Indian Premier League Cricket at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.
Chasing 166 runs for victory, Chennai Super Kings reached the target with just one ball to spare. Dwayne Bravo’s brilliant 68 off just 30 balls with seven sixes helped visitors to score 169 for 9 in 19.5 overs.
Bravo was adjudged Man of the Match. Hardik Pandya and Mayank Markande took 3 wickets each for Mumbai. Earlier, Chennai won the toss and decided to field first. Mumbai posted a challenging total of 165 for 4 in stipulated 20 overs.
Suryakumar Yadav scored 43 and Krunal Pandya contributed 41 runs for the hosts. For Chennai, Shane Watson picked up two wickets.
