New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah has been missing a lot of cricketing action since his injury. As reported by Cricbuzz, the pacer might not feature in IPL 2023, which will begin on March 31. His inclusion in the squad for the finals of the World Test Championship in London, if India qualifies, is also unlikely as BCCI and management do not seem to rush their ace bowler.
Bumrah has not played a game in the last five months and some BCCI sources told Cricbuzz, he is not feeling comfortable and fit enough to play.
Initially, it was thought that he will return to play for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, but the reports have suggested the opposite.
Though the pacer has missed a lot of matches, including the T20 World Cup, BCCI would want his services to be available for the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 in October-November, which will be played in India. That is the most crucial tournament of the year and Bumrah will be one of the key players if India wants to succeed.
Bumrah played his last game in September 2022, in a T20I against Australia. In the game, he could not leave a mark as he went for 50 runs in his four overs, picking no wicket. However, India went on to win the game as Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav chased down 187.
Even when his return was planned, there was some fitness issue that turned things and now there are no announcements to tell when will he return to action.
