New Delhi: Following a successful tenure with the national side, Rahul Dravid is ready to start a new innings in IPL with his old franchise Rajasthan Royals. Earlier, it was anticipated that Dravid would take on the mantle of the Kolkata Knight Riders given that KKR’s top leadership remains vacant now that Gautam Gambhir has taken up the job of leading the national side.

However, quashing all those ideas, Rahul Dravid is in ‘advance talks’ about the imminent possibility of joining his former IPL side, Rajasthan Royals. Dravid has been at the helm of affairs for many years at Rajasthan Royals. Starting as captain of the Royals, Dravid has been one of the most successful cricketers to play for the Royals.

Naturally, the franchise has turned to its “golden arm” once again to manage it for the upcoming season of the IPL.

Rahul Dravid who has been around the cricketing circuit for a long period has been one of the major orchestrators of major decision-making and the revamping of coaching manuals in the country.

The rags to riches story of Rahul Dravid:

After hanging up his bat in 2013, Dravid became a close associate of the coaching circles in the country. Starting from the U-19 side, Dravid initiated a systematic setup which has led to a systematic setup of the U-19 side. However, even after giving his all, Rahul Dravid has repeatedly faltered at the final hurdle in the national set-up, missing out on the World Test Championship as well as the ODI World Cup.

Dravid was unlucky as a captain and saw the national side scramble to a disastrous loss against Bangladesh during the 2007 ODI World Cup. Nevertheless, the former Indian cricketer scripted the greatest story of redemption as he won the final game of his cricketing career with the trophy!
