South Africa vs Pakistan, Boxing Day Test: Pitch Report and Weather Report of the One-off test

South Africa and Pakistan are set to square off for the one-off test match at the Super Park Stadium which is a batting-friendly track with some lateral seam movement for the pacers.

New Delhi: South Africa will be playing a crucial test match on boxing day against Pakistan at the Super Park Stadium (formerly known as the Centurion).

What is the weather report?

The good news for cricket fans is that the rain forecast makes for a positive reading during the match timing. According to weather.com, at 2 PM local time, there is only an 18% chance of rain, which reduces later in the evening. While there is a 34% chance of rain at 10 PM local time and 51% at 11 PM local time, the match is expected to end by that time, giving hope that the match will see a result if not a full 50-over game.

What is the pitch report of the Super Park Stadium?

Originally called the Centurion Park, the SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium is a traditionally batting-friendly pitch. Naturally, the ball generally comes onto the bat smoothly. But it also has elements of lateral movement for the pacers. The likes of Kagiso Rabada and Naseem Shah will naturally have a go at the batters.

The pitch changes its behaviour during the fourth and fifth days of a test match. Therefore, scoring runs becomes a challenge for the batters. The stadium has a quick outfield and can provide an intense competition between the bat and the ball.
