New Delhi: Star-Studded Brazil suffered a nail bitting defeat from Croatia on Friday night. The loss in the quarter-final left megastar striker Neymar tearful. Neymar’s dream of helping Brazil reach its 6th title got shattered yesterday.
The world’s number 1 team Brazil which was speculated to be one of the finalists is now out of the world cup. If reports are to be believed, this was the last world cup for Neymar and the star striker is planning to take retirement after Brazil’s World Cup exit.
In the match, Neymar scored the first goal and equalled the record of Selecao’s joint-leading goal scorer. Surprisingly he did not participate in the penalty shoot-out.

Reportedly he was reserved for the fifth penalty shoot but before that could happen, Croatia snatched the win. Croatia completely outplayed Brazil in the penalty shootout as it won by 4-2.
In the penalty shootout, all 4 players of Croatian side surprisingly converted the spot kick, whereas for the Selecao, Real Madrid’s attacker Rodrygo, who stepped up for the first kick, and defender Marquinhos, who came in fourth, missed the target.
This came as a surprise to everyone as Brazils were the favorites to win the title. Unfortunately loss left Neymar emotional as other teammates tried to console him in the field. Several videos are becoming viral over internet where Neymar’s teammates ar seen consoling him.
