“the country should know the truth…” Yogeshwar Dutt urges Vinesh Phogat to apologise for the medal fiasco in Paris

From ‘Olympics to Politics’ Vinesh Phogat’s fight and resilience continues as she looks to make a lasting impact in the field of politics.

New Delhi: From ‘Olympics to Politics’ Vinesh Phogat’s fight and resilience continues as she looks to make a lasting impact in the field of politics. However, Phogat’s ambitious leap has not been seen positively by her compatriots from the field of sports and wrestling.

Phogat grabbed the media limelight after she was eliminated from the Olympics owing to her overweight. Subsequently, the entire country became divided in a battle of opinion. While a particular section of the people were sympathetic to the efforts put in by the Haryanvi grappler, many felt that Phogat should ‘apologise’ to the entire country for the missed chance of an Olympic medal.

In this hot cauldron of politics and electoral gains, Yogeshwar Dutt, a fellow wrestler and Olympic medalist now has reacted strongly to the Olympic fiasco that unfolded in Paris. Dutt remarked-

She has her own preferences but the country should know the truth. Whatever happened in the country over the last one year, be it her disqualification from the Olympic Games or the protest. When the new parliament was to be inaugurated, the country’s image was painted in an incorrect manner….

Yogeshwar further added that Vinesh dragged the honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the entire fiasco while filling her political coffers. Simultaneously, Dutt also pointed out that the entire incident sent out a wrong message of the country’s integrity and ethos to the whole world.

From which place Vinesh Phogat will contest the elections?

Vinesh is believed to be contesting the polls from Julana while Bajrang Puia is set to assume the position of the president of the Kisan Congress.

However, the entry of both Olympic stars has not been accepted by rivals from the sporting and political fraternity. Earlier Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was seen sharing his opinion of mind at the entire incident which unfolded before the Haryana polls.
