New Delhi: Ex-English skipper Michael Vaughan, who is well known for his blunt remarks about the Indian cricket team, recently made another harsh statement for the men in the blue.
In his statement, Michael Vaughan criticized Rohit Sharma & Co by calling team India the most underachieving team of the World Cricket, considering the financial status of BCCI & the massive popularity of the game in the country.
Speaking with Fox Cricket, Michael raised numerous questions on team India, asking the last time the men in blue won any major ICC tournament in the last decade. His statements came just after India received a humiliating defeat against South Africa in the recently concluded first test of the three-match test series played in Centurion.
Although the former cricketer praised the CWC 2023 runner-ups for their multiple historic triumphs in the BGT, he highlighted that except for that, the blue team has miserably failed to achieve anything big in the major ICC tournaments.
He then also took a dig at team India for their CWC 2023 defeat against Australia and said that Rohit Sharma’s team failed to win the coveted World Cup 2023 trophy despite being the strongest side in the entire tournament.

For the unversed, Rohit Sharma & Co. are facing heavy bashing from critics and fans after losing to the proteas team by an inning and 32 runs in the centurion test.
In the match, South Africa showcased an exceptionally dominant performance and registered a convincing win after outshining team India in every department within 3 days.
Riding high on Dean Elgar’s 187 (287) historic century, South Africa earned a massive 163-run lead in the first innings and then effortlessly dismantled team India’s batting by bowling them out on a small total of 131.

Although India’s batting maestro Virat Kohli, who was the lone worrier from India’s side, played a praiseworthy inning of 76 off 82, he wasn’t fortunate enough to receive support from any other player as wickets kept falling at regular intervals and India never got a chance to make a comeback in the game.
South Africa now leads the test series by 1-0 and will now try to seal the series by winning the second test match scheduled to be played between 3-7 January in Newlands Cricket Stadium.
