New Delhi: India’s Ajay Jayaram today failed to win his first title of the season as he lost the Vietnam Open Men’s Singles Final at Ho Chi Minh City.
The 30-year old was beaten by Shesar Hiren Rhustavito of Indonesia, in straight games, 14-21, 10-21. Jayaram was making a comeback after recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered last year.
This was the third time in as many weeks that an Indian was fighting for a title in a Badminton event. Last Sunday, Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu had settled for a silver medal at the World Championships in Nanjing, China.
A week before that, Sourabh Verma had won the Russia Open Tour Super 100 tournament.
