New Delhi: An underrated player, Sanju Samson has been knocking on the doors of the Indian selectors for a long time. The right-hand wicket-keeper batsman has been in and out of the national side after not finding a place in the playing XI of the national team for his desired position.

With the emergence of Rishabh Pant as the main choice wicketkeeper-batsman across red ball and white ball, Samson’s ambitions to become the first-choice wicket-keeper batsman took a major roadblock. However, Samson’s innings against South Africa gave a warning call to all the critics who have sidelined the Kerala-born cricketer.

Earlier, Samson scored a blistering 50-ball 107 against the Proteas in the 1st T20I to light up the sky of Kingsmead in Durban. Samson had scored a blistering century against the Bangladeshi side (111 off 47 balls) where India went on to win the series by 3-0.

India went on to win the series opener by a big margin of 61 runs. Subsequently, the social media went spiralling.
