In some shocking news for the Mahendra Singh Dhoni fans, he has step down from the Captaincy of Chennai Super Kings. Indian Cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad has been appointed as the Skipper ahead of the upcoming IPL season 2024.

Ruturaj’s Early Life

Ruturaj Gaikwad is an Indian International Cricketer who plays for Maharashtra in domestic cricket. Born on 31st January 1997, he made his international debut in 2021. Ruturaj hails from Pune, Maharashtra. His father works for DRDO( Defence Research Development Organization) and mother was a teacher in a Municipal School. As a child he was never forced by his parents to study more and play less. He did his schooling from St Joseph’s Boys High School in Pune.

Who is Ruturaj Gaikwad?Β 

Ruturaj joined the Vengsarkar Academy when he was 13 years old. He made his debut for Maharashtra in 2016-2017 Ranji Trophy. He made his 20-20 debut for Maharashtra in Inter State 20-20 tournament in 2017. He was named in India’s One day International in 2021. He made his T20on 28th July 2021 for India against Srilanka.
