Recently Vinesh and Guzman met at the Grand Prix which took place in Spain. The Indian wrestler won in the end to take the scoreline 3-1 in her favour and clinch the gold medal in the 50kg category.
Who is Yusneylys Guzmán?
Yusneylys Guzman is a Cuban wrestler who will compete in the semifinals against Vinesh Phogat in the Women’s freestyle 50kg category of the Paris Olympics. Guzmán was born in the La Habana Province and is the two-time Pan American Medalist (Gold in Santiago 2023 and Silver in 2019).
Added to that, she is the winner of the Pan American Championships as well as the Central American and Caribbean Games. Guzman is currently ranked in the 12th place in the weight category that she is going to take part. Although this might not reflect her true potential, the Cuban grappler is coming into the match after thrashing Gabija Dilyte of Lithuania in the quarter-finals with a 10-0 margin.
