New Delhi: Pakistani sports presenter Zainab Abbas has been debarred from doing ground reporting of the ongoing cricket world cup 2023 and reportedly deported back home. The ICC crackdown against the Pakistani anchor comes on back of her anti-Hindu remarks & tweets.
A couple of Pakistani media outlets confirmed that she was deported from India and is currently staying in Dubai.
Notably, the Pakistani anchor has an infamous track record of spewing hatred against Hindu religion & India. Her Hinduphobic comments in the past also stirred controversy and drew criticism.
The Pakistani sports presenter was in India to cover the cricket’s biggest spectacle under the ICC Presenter’s list.
The action against her comes on back of a complaint filed by a Supreme Court lawyer Vineet Jindal, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The 35-year-old filed complaint against Zainab’s string of derogatory & demeaning remarks/tweets against Hinduism & the Bharat.

In his complaint, the lawyer said that ‘athiti devo bhava’ was for those who respect Hindu Dharma & our country and those using derogatory & demeaning words must be sent back.
He had lodged complaint against her on X (formerly Twitter) years ago, over latter’s anti-India, anti-Hindu remarks.

Before Pakistani sports presenter was sent back, she said that she was highly excited to be part of the cricketing extravaganza and was keen on exploring the country despite sharp differences in beliefs & customs.
