Yashasvi Jaiswal climbs the test ladder to become the second batsman to score 1000+ runs in Test Cricket in 2024

New Delhi: Dynamic left-hand opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal has once again created history as he became only the second batsman in the calendar year to score more than 1000 runs. Jaiswal’s rapid strides in international cricket

Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the new sensation in test cricket for India. The left-hander has made rapid strides in red ball and has become a regular opener in test cricket for the men in blue. Jaiswal’s consistent run of form saw him score 1007 runs this year at an average of 59.23. The left-hander has an impressive strike-rate of 75.88 in 10 Test matches so far in 2024.

Jaiswal’s highest score of 214 came against England at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot earlier this year. The southpaw had previously achieved a double hundred in the Vizag Test match against England.  The ball does not stop rolling there and Jaiswal has not regressed since making his debut against the West Indies last year, hitting 171 runs.

However, Jaiswal is yet to make a significant impact in the ongoing series against the Kiwis. The southpaw has gotten off to a good start on many occasions but has failed to convert them into a big knock. The star player scored 13 and 35 in the first Test match at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

In the second test, he hit four fours and scored 30 runs off 60 balls before a tricky delivery from Glenn Phillips saw him edging the ball t0 the slip cordon that fell directly into Daryl Mitchell’s hands.
