RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha joins Congress-led ‘Mahagathbandhan’
Patna: Weeks after walking out of the NDA alliance, the disgruntled Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) chief Upendra Kushwaha joined the Bihar Mahagathbandhan, comprising of Congress and RJD.
Kushwaha joined the grand alliance in presence of various leaders including Tejashwi Yadav, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Sharad Yadav at the AICC headquarters in the national capital.
Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel made the announcement saying, “This is a matter of great happiness that Upendra Kushwaha has joined mahagathbandhan.”
Kushwaha-led RLSP had pulled out of the NDA alliance earlier this month while accusing the latter of being arrogant over ‘seat sharing’.

After joining the grand alliance, Kushwaha said that Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Yadav’s “wholeheartedness” was the reason for his titl towards them.
“We had said that we have many options and UPA was one of them. The wholeheartedness shown by Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Yadav is one of the reasons I joined but the biggest reason I’m here is the people of Bihar,” said Kushwaha.
“Undeclared emergency in Bihar,” says Tejashwi
Addressing the media on Kushwaha’s joining mahagathbandhan, Tejashwi said, “Today we are witnessing an undeclared emergency in Bihar. Nitish Kumar has raped the mandate in Bihar. Today, we have a double engine government in Bihar, where one engine is involved in corruption and the other engine is dipped in crime. If there is real governance and alliance in Bihar, where is the special package that was promised to Bihar?”
