Farooq Abdullah and his son and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were detained after the repeal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. A delegation of National Conference leaders had met them earlier this month.

Farooq and his son Omar Abdullah are under preventive detention following the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5.
Pakistan on Sunday announced it will grant consular access to the retired Indian Navy officer, who was sentenced to death by a Pakistan military court on the basis of extracted confession of “espionage and terrorism” after a closed trial in April 2017.
In the wake of India's decision, Pakistan has also urged the international community, including groups such as the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, to interfere in the matter and called for restraint against the so-called "illegal aggression" of New Delhi in the region.
Azad also vented out anger against the Centre for their move and claimed, "People of Jammu and Kashmir are angry. There is no internet, no WhatsApp, no vehicular movement. It is the first state where a law is passed after the imposition of a curfew."
The Rajya Sabha on Monday adopted resolutions to scrap Article 370 and Article 35A in Jammu and Kashmir. The house also passed the reservation bill and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2019 by voice vote.
