    New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the candidates who cleared the UPSC Civil Service exams and said those who could not clear should remember that this isn’t the end of their journey, adding that there are chances ahead to succeed in the exams.

    “I congratulate all those who have successfully cleared the Civil Services Examination, 2023. Their hard work, perseverance and dedication has paid off, marking the start of a promising career in public service. Their efforts will shape the future of our nation in the times to come. My best wishes to them,” PM Modi posted X.

    PM Modi also offered some words of encouragement to the candidates who did not clear the UPSC Civil Services exam.

    “I want to tell those who didn’t achieve the desired success in the Civil Services Examination- setbacks can be tough, but remember, this isn’t the end of your journey. There are chances ahead to succeed in exams, but beyond that, India is rich with opportunities where your talents can truly shine. Keep striving and exploring the vast possibilities ahead. Wishing you all the very best,” he added.

    The Union Public Service Commission on Tuesday announced the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023.

    The written part of the Civil Services Examination, 2023 was held by the UPSC in September 2023 and the interviews for the Personality Test were held in January-April 2024.

    Aditya Srivastava has secured the first position in the Civil Services Examination, 2023. Animesh Pradhan secured the second rank and Donuru Ananya Reddy stood third.

    Others in top 10 include – P K Sidharth Ramkumar (4), Ruhani (5), Srishti Dabas (6) Anmol Rathore (7), Ashish Kumar (8), Nausheen (9) and Aishwaryam Prajapati (10). In recent years, women have demonstrated remarkable achievements in securing top positions in the UPSC examinations.

    According to the official release, 1016 candidates (664 men and 352 women) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various services. Among the final qualified candidates, the top five comprise three men and two women.

    In the General category, 347 candidates have been selected, from Economic Weaker Section-115, Other Backward Caste-303, Schedule Caste-165 and Scheduled Tribes-86.

    Following Rule 20 (4) and (5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules 2023, the Commission also issued a consolidated Reserve List of candidates.

    General–120 candidates, EWS–36, OBC–66, SC–10, ST–04, PwBD-1–2 and PwBD-2–2.

    The number of vacancies reported by the government to be filled in the IAS category are General-73, EWS-17, OBC-49, SC-27 and ST-14.

    In the IFS category, General-16, EWS-4, OBC-10, SC-5, and ST-2, while in the IPS, General-80, EWS-20, OBC-55, SC-86, and ST-13.

    There are 258 in General, EWS-64, OBC-160, SC-86 and ST-45 vacancies reported by the Government in Central Services Group ‘A’.

    In Group ‘B’ Services, General-47, EWS-10, OBC-29, SC-15, ST-12.

    UPSC Civil Services 2019 marksheet released… check your marks here @ upsc.gov.in

    New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Saturday released the marksheet of UPSC Civil Services exams 2019.

    Candidates can check their individual marks on the official site of UPSC @ upsc.gov.in by putting their roll number and date of birth. Earlier, the marks were scheduled for September 7 but that got delayed.

    The result of UPSC 2019 was declared by the Commission on August 4. A total of 829 candidates have qualified this year for the IAS, IPS, IRS, and other central Group A and B services in the country. Out of this, 304 candidates belong to general category while 78 are in EWS category candidates, 251 in OBC category, 129 in SC category candidates and 67 in ST category.

    The scorecard of UPSC CSE 2019 has been released separately for prelims exam, mains exam and qualified candidates.

    UPSC preliminary exam was held on June 2 while mains exam was conducted on September 20 in offline mode.

    1. Visit UPSC official site on upsc.gov.in.
    2. Click UPSC Civil Services 2019 marksheet link on the homepage
    3. A new page will open, enter your login ID and password.
    4. Marksheet would be displayed on the screen.
    5. Download it and keep a hard copy of the same for further need
    6. The downloaded copy will be the provisional marksheet of the candidate.

    The marks are released for candidates who have been recommended for appointment. However, the Commission has also released the marks of candidates who have not qualified for the written examination.

    Educational Qualification:

    Foreman (Electrical): A candidate should have a degree in Electrical Engineering from any recognized University plus one year experience in relevant field or Associate Member of Institute of Engineers (AMIE) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University plus one year experience in relevant field from a recognized organization.

    Senior Scientific Assistant (Electronics): A candidate should have a degree in Electronics Engineering from any recognized University plus one year experience in relevant field from a recognized organization.

    Senior Scientific Assistant (Metallurgy): A candidate should have a degree in Engineering or Technology in Metallurgical Engineering from any recognized University plus one year experience in relevant field from a recognized organization OR Associate Member of Indian Institute of Metals (AMIIM) in Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized University plus one year experience in relevant field.

    Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor: A candidate must have a MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Post Graduate degree in the concerned speciality.

    Candidates belonging to the General/OBC/EWS male candidates category are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 25, while SC/ST/PH/Women candidates of any community are exempted from the payment of registration fee.

    The fee can only be paid either by remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card.

    New Delhi: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the e-admit card for the engineering services (main) examination 2020 on its official website. The commission has also released the examination schedule for UPSC ESE 2020.

    All those candidates who have qualified for UPSC ESE/IES 2020 Mains can now download the Admit Card through the official website of UPSC.i.e. upsc.gov.in.

    According to the schedule, the UPSC ESE 2020 exam will be conducted on October 18, 2020. The examination will be held in two shifts, i.e from 9 am to 12 noon and in the afternoon from 2 to 5 pm.

    Union Public Service Commission, UPSC has rejected claims made in a news report which stated that applicants appearing for Civil Services Prelims examination this year will have to get tested for COVID-19.


    The media report said that only upon being tested negative the applicants would be allowed to appear for the examination.

    UPSC exam - fake news

    UPSC has termed the news report as fake and said that it has not given any such instruction.

    Applicants have been urged not to believe unverified news reports and fact check any dubious information from the commission’s website at www.upsc.gov.in

    Though, UPSC had to postpone the exam due to COVID-19 pandemic it has not yet announced anything on how it would conduct the exam in October.

    Civil Services exam admit cards are likely to be released in the second week of September.

    The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of Civil Services Examination 2019 earlier today.

    All 829 selected candidates will be appointed to Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.

    Pradeep Singh topped the examination followed by Jatin Kishore and Pratibha Verma. The candidature of 66 recommended candidates is “provisional” while the result of 11 candidates has been “withheld”, stated the press note issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB).

    The result of the Civil Services Examination, 2019 is subject to changes, if any, that may be necessitated by the orders that may be passed by the Courts in matters pending before them, it added. (ANI)

    New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has decided to hold the personality tests (PTs)/interviews for the remaining candidates from July 20 to July 30, 2020.

    “The UPSC was in the midst of conducting the PTs/interviews for 2,304 candidates for the Civil Services Examination, 2019 (CSE-2019) when the Centre Government imposed the COVID-19 lockdown,” according to a UPSC release.

    “The Commission reviewed the position and decided to defer the remaining PT Boards for 623 candidates of the CSE-2019 from March 23 onwards. With gradual lifting of the lockdown, the Commission has decided to hold the PTs for the remaining candidates from July 20 to July 30, 2020,” it added.

    In order to ensure the safety of all the candidates, expert advisers and staff of the Commission, suitable arrangements have been made. The Commission is also helping the candidates with their lodging and transport requirements.

    According to the release, “On reaching the Commission, all candidates will be provided ‘Sealed Kit’ consisting of a face mask, face shield, a bottle of sanitiser and hand gloves. Since the Interview Boards generally comprise of senior advisers, the Commission has taken all precautionary and safety measures for contactless PTs in order to shield the interviewers and the interviewees appropriately.”

    To ensure social distancing, the seating arrangements for the candidates at all venues are at a safe physical distance. Protocols that are to be followed by the candidates appearing in the interview have been communicated to them. (ANI)

  • UPSC to decide on fresh dates for remaining civil services-2019 personality tests after May 3

    New Delhi : In view of the prevailing COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday announced that a decision on fresh dates for the remaining civil services-2019 personality tests will be taken after May 3.

    “A decision on fresh dates for the remaining civil services-2019 personality tests will be taken after May 3, following the second phase of the lockdown,” said the commission after conducting a special meeting to review the situation arising out of the coronavirus pandemic.

    The commission said that dates for the civil services-2020 (prelim), engineering services (main) and the geologist services (main) examinations had already been announced and any rescheduling in these examinations if necessitated by the evolving situation, will be notified on its website.

    Moreover, deferment notices have already been posted for the Combined Medical Services Examination, the Indian Economic Service and the Indian Statistical Service Examination 2020. Dates for the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Exam 2020 will also be notified on the UPSC website.

    The National Defence Academy (NDA-I) Examination has already been postponed till further intimation. A decision on the NDA-II Examination will be posted on June 10, the scheduled date for its notification.

    As the commission also reviewed the harm caused to the national economy by the coronavirus pandemic, the chairman and members of the UPSC have decided to voluntarily forego 30 per cent of the basic pay received by them from the commission for a period of one year, with effect from April, 2020.

    In addition, all officers and staff members of the UPSC have volunteered a one-day salary to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation Fund (PM CARES Fund). (ANI)
